Several People Injured In PATH Train Accident At Penn Station

A PATH train arriving at Penn Station collided with the bumper block at the end of its track and the collision has injured as at least 10 people Wednesday morning.

The 7:59 a.m. train originated from Hoboken, New Jersey and hit the bumper at a slow speed as it pulled into the Manhattan station.

The Port Authority says the accident was minor, but confirms at least 10 people suffered minor injuries. It is unclear if the injuries are from passengers or the train crew.

Penn Station is located at West 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue. It serves as a major transit junction in Manhattan, which connects several subway lines to PATH and Amtrak.

It was a brand new train and highly automated. The new PATH trains are terrible (1) Slower then old trains – 3 min additional commute time from Hoboken – it adds up; (2) Doors create wind tunnels on all stops; (3) less bars to hold onto while standing.
